About Us

The Challenge: Addressing Health Needs in Prison

Health literacy among People Living in Prisons (PLP) is often significantly lower than in the general population. This disparity contributes to higher rates of health issues, including:

  • Mental health conditions
  • Communicable diseases like Hepatitis B & C
  • Sexually transmitted infections
  • Recognizing these challenges, PARTNER aims to equip both PLP and prison staff with the necessary knowledge, skills, and tools to improve health awareness, prevention, and management.

Our Collaborative Approach

PARTNER utilizes a participatory co-design methodology, actively involving PLP and prison staff from Greece, Italy, France, and Moldova. This collaborative process ensures our training materials and health education strategies are directly informed by their unique perspectives and needs.
